Courtney Tucker enters her second season as head coach of the Voorhees Tigers softball program, continuing to build momentum and establish a competitive foundation for sustained success.

In her first season, Tucker coached three student-athletes to conference recognition and led the Tigers to key conference victories over Talladega and Rust. Her commitment to excellence extended beyond the field, as the program posted a 3.2 team GPA, reflecting her emphasis on academic achievement alongside athletic performance.

Heading into year two, Tucker has focused on strengthening the program through the addition of a highly regarded recruiting class that adds depth, versatility, and long-term potential to the roster. By blending new talent with returning leadership, she continues to cultivate a cohesive, competitive culture within the Tigers softball program.

Prior to Voorhees, Tucker served as head coach at Salem College, where she earned her first collegiate head coaching victory in a 13–5 (five innings) win over Livingstone. That victory sparked a three-game winning streak, including a sweep of Livingstone and a conference win over Brevard (6–3). During her tenure, Salem collected multiple in-season honors, including Rookie of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards, while 11 student-athletes were recognized for academic excellence.

Tucker also served as an assistant coach at William Peace University, where the Pacers posted a 24–15 overall record and a 12–6 mark in USA South Conference play. The team finished third in the regular-season standings, recorded 12 home wins, hit .338 collectively, posted a .489 slugging percentage, and outscored opponents 226–183.

Her collegiate coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Averett University, where she helped guide the Cougars to a third-place finish in the USA South Conference regular season standings. She later returned to her alma mater, North Carolina Wesleyan University, serving eight seasons as outfield and hitting coach. During that stretch, the Battling Bishops won 87 games over five seasons, including 44 conference victories. In 2016, the program went 20–15 overall and 14–6 in conference play, earning a berth in the USA South Conference Tournament. Tucker played a role in helping more than 100 student-athletes earn academic and athletic honors during her time on staff.

Tucker went on to serve as an assistant coach at Harford Community College, working primarily with hitters and outfielders. Under her guidance, the team reduced defensive errors to 82, posted a .347 team batting average, and had 10 players hit .300 or better. Harford finished 8–8 in conference play, made its second regional appearance in program history, and placed six players on the All-Conference team.

A standout student-athlete at North Carolina Wesleyan, Tucker was a lifetime .359 hitter, recording 153 hits, 77 runs, 33 doubles, and 13 home runs. She set program records in RBIs (124) and putouts (976) while helping lead the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons. Her accomplishments earned her numerous honors, including Female Athlete of the Year, two-time Most Valuable Player, USA South All-Conference, All-Region, and North Carolina College Sports Information Association All-State recognition. Following her collegiate career, she competed internationally with the World Sport Stars Softball Club, traveling throughout Europe.

Tucker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology from North Carolina Wesleyan and earned two master’s degrees from Liberty University: a Master of Arts in Management & Leadership and a Master of Science in Sports Administration & Sports Management. In addition to her coaching duties, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Business, specializing in Sports Management.

An active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, Tucker is passionate about growing the game and leads her nonprofit organization, Diamond Life, Inc., which focuses on mentoring and developing young athletes.

A native of Chesterfield, Virginia, Tucker now resides in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
