Mary Hill enters her second year as the Dean of Students/Senior Woman Leader at Voorhees University after a successful stint at Delaware State University (DSU) as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). With over twenty years of experience and various athletic positions, Ms. Hill previously served as the Hornets Interim Athletic Director. Under her direction, she provided proactive leadership and oversight of all facets of the eighteen athletic programs.  Ms. Hill also negotiated a 1.3-million-dollar facility renovation project, which included a new turf installation and track surface in addition to implementing the school’s first fueling station and a nutrition program for the more than 350 student-athletes.

As the Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA, Mary was instrumental in securing the NCAA Accelerated Academic Success Program Grant for limited resource institutions and served as Chairperson and Co-Chair of the department’s signature events. As Chairperson of the Athletic Hall of Fame (HOF), she restored and revived the HOF's membership and contributions with the alumni's support. She also co-chairs the Delaware Diamond Extravaganza, an event honoring professionals who excelled in women’s athletics and education.  Her responsibilities also included monitoring Athletic Title IX Compliance, Gender Equity, Sport Supervision, serving on various campus-wide committees, and being an advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Through Hill’s advice, the SAAC members participated in several local and national events that included Samaritans Feet, Habitat for Humanity, Foster Kids Christmas Celebrations, Project Life Movement, Toys for Tots, Campus Clean-Up, Relay for Life, Angel Tree, and many more events.

In addition to her work as a senior staff member, she has also served in numerous leadership capacities throughout her career. She served as Vice President of the MEAC, Chair of the MEAC Senior Woman Administrators, MEAC Co-Chair for multiple championships, member of the NCAA Division I Volleyball and Nominating Committees, and is a graduate of the NCAA Leadership for Ethnic Minority Males and Females.

A former softball/volleyball coach at South Carolina State University, Hill coached several All-MEAC performers, Arthur Ashe recipients, and an NCAA statistical leader. As an administrator, she had direct oversight of Community Engagement, Academics, Media Relations, Sport Supervision, Champs/Life Skills, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served on the Judicial, Registration/Enrollment, and Housing Committees.

A graduate of Florida A&M University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Mary Hill had a successful athletic career garnering All-MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) and All NSWAC (New South Women’s Athletic Conference) accolades as a player. As a member of the 1987 & 1989 MEAC Volleyball Runner-Up and 1988 MEAC Volleyball Championship teams, Hill was selected Membership in the Florida A&M University Sports Hall of Fame. She holds a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from South Carolina State University and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
