Voorhees University Lady Tigers Secure Victory Over St. Andrews Knights in Season Opener

In a thrilling start to their season, the Voorhees University Tigers women's basketball team clinched a decisive 70-54 victory against the St. Andrews Knights on November 2, 2024, in Laurinburg, NC. The victory marked a strong commencement of their regular season play, showcasing their dominance on the court.

Leading the charge for the Tigers was Ty'Shemia Bunkley, who netted an impressive 25 points. Bunkley's performance was crucial in securing the win and she was ably supported by Cambria Parker and Alyssa Herder, who contributed 14 and 12 points respectively. The team demonstrated strong defensive skills, with notable performances including Cambria Parker's two steals and Nedisha Ford's team-high eight rebounds and four assists.

The game was tightly contested in the first half, with Voorhees holding a slight edge of 37-31. However, their tenacity shone through in the overtime, where they extended their lead by a significant 16 points, underscoring their strategic prowess and stamina.
