The Voorhees University Tigers clinched a significant conference victory against the Wiley University Wildcats with a final score of 64-55 on December 17, 2024, at Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio. This win marks a turnaround for the Tigers, improving their season record to 4-8 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
From the outset, Voorhees demonstrated solid control, leading by a substantial 20-point margin at halftime with a score of 43-23.
Keshawn Evans starred for the Tigers, notching 16 points and 14 rebounds, showcasing his prowess both offensively and defensively.
Omari Bryson also made a notable contribution with 12 points and efficiently dished out 4 assists.
Bryce Wilson contributed to the team's offense with 10 points. Other players, such as
Daethan Harris and
Dylan Magloire, were pivotal in defense and rebounding, collecting multiple boards and making critical plays.
The game saw intense action, marked by an aggressive playstyle, fouls, and multiple steals, with Voorhees' highest lead reaching 23 points in the first half. The Tigers maintained their lead in the second half despite spirited attempts of a comeback from the Wildcats.
Looking ahead, Voorhees University Men's Basketball team is set to face Stillman College next on January 3, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as they aim to continue their momentum and climb higher in the conference rankings.
