Bruce Martin was named head coach of the Voorhees baseball program in August 2025, bringing an extensive collegiate playing and coaching background to the Tigers. With a strong foundation in player development and competitive excellence, Martin is committed to building a championship culture while ensuring student-athletes succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
A native of Martinville, Louisiana, Martin graduated from Franklinton High School in 2010, where he established himself as one of the state’s premier players. He earned All-State honors and was selected to compete in the Coca-Cola All-Star Game in Alexandria, Louisiana. During his senior season, he led the state with an outstanding .780 batting average.
Martin began his collegiate playing career at East Central Community College (2010–2011) before transferring to Central Alabama Community College. At Central Alabama, he earned First Team All-Conference honors, was named an NJCAA Division I First Team All-American, received ACCC Player of the Year recognition, and helped lead his team to a National Championship. A versatile infielder, Martin was a standout at both third base and shortstop.
Martin transitioned into coaching at Xavier University of Louisiana, serving two seasons (Fall 2021–Spring 2023) as a volunteer assistant under Head Coach Adrian Holloway. During his tenure, he worked closely with hitters and infielders, playing an integral role in player development. Martin credits Coach Holloway as a significant mentor in shaping his coaching philosophy and growth in the profession.
In Fall 2024, Martin worked with the Gold Rush program before joining the University of Tennessee at Martin staff for the 2025 season. At UT Martin, he coached hitters while assisting with defensive development and opponent scouting.
Martin will further expand his collegiate coaching experience this summer as a coach in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League with the Geneva Red Wings.
He is the proud father of two children, Grayson and Addison.
