B.J. Martin took over as the head coach of the Voorhees baseball program in August 2025. Bringing a wealth of experience in the collegiate baseball world with him, Coach Martin is looking to build the program into a winning culture while graduating guys at a high rate.

Martin is a native of Martinville, LA. He graduated from Franklinton High School in 2010. He was an All-State selection to the Coca-Cola All-Star Game in Alexandria, LA. Martin also held the highest batting average in the state, where he posted a .780 average. He played his college ball at the JUCO level at East Central Community College from 2010-2011. He later transferred to Central Alabama Community College where he was a First Team All-Conference, NJCAA Division I First Team All-American, ACCC Player of the Year, and National Champion.  Martin was a starting infielder who played third base and shortstop.

Martin joined the Xavier University of Louisiana coaching staff as a volunteer under Coach Adrian Holloway for 2 years (Fall 2021-Spring 2023), where he assisted with Hitters and Infielders. Martin credits Coach Adrian for his progression and knowledge as a Coach thus far. Martin spent the fall of 2024 with the Gold Rush before joining the University of Tennessee at Martin coaching staff for the 2025 season, where he again coached hitters, along with assisting in fielding and scouting opponent's offensive tendencies.

Martin is expected to coach in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League this summer with the Geneva Red Wings.

Martin is the father of Grayson Martin and Addison Martin.
