Continental Athletic Conference POD – Game 4 VOORHEES MEN WIN OVERTIME THRILLER OVER WILBERFORCE; ROSARIO GOES OVER 1,000 PTS.

DENMARK, SC – Host Voorhees outscored Wilberforce 12-6 in the second overtime to earn a hard-fought 81-74 victory over the Bulldog Friday behind 19 points by Keshawn Evans and 17 by Hector Rosario who scored the 1,000th point of his career. Rosario, a senior of Lawrenceville, GA who entered the contest needing 15 points to reach the coveted mark, had six of his total in the second extra period.

Coach James Williams' team improved to 8-12 overall and 4-0 in the Continental Athletics Conference. The host trailed by 12 points – 44-32 -- in regulation before going on a 13-0 run to seize a 45-44 lead with just under 10 minutes to play. There was one lead change and two deadlocks, the last once at 59-59, to force the first overtime.

The teams traded baskets in the early minutes of the first extra period before Wilberforce took a 68-65 edge with 57 seconds on the clock. Evans made one of two free throws with 40.6 seconds on the clock and tied the game at 68-all with a follow shot, setting up the second overtime.

Voorhees took charge early in the second extra period building a 74-70 lead on an Evans put-back at the 3:19 mark. After a Germain Marshall layup pulled Wilberforce to within 74-72 with 2:16 left, Voorhees outscored the visitors 7-2 to pull out the win.

Tyler Willoughby was also in double figures for the Tigers will 11 points. Dylan Magloire led the host on the boards with 11 rebounds, to go along with seven points, while Evans grabbed 10 stray shots.

The Bulldogs, who led 35-28 at the half, were led by Kyle Cardenas with 19 points and nine rebounds. Rasaad Pettis and Marshall had 14 points each and Jeurdyn added 10 for Wilberforce which fell to 6-17 and 1-3 in the league.
