In an intense showdown at the Leonard E Dawson Human Resource Center on November 14, 2024, the Voorhees University Tigers faced a narrow defeat in their first conference game of the season against the Wilberforce University Bulldogs, with a final score of 67-62.
The game kicked off with Voorhees initially keeping pace, ending the first half just a point behind with a halftime score of 32-33. Despite a robust performance from the Tigers, the Bulldogs managed to maintain their slight lead and ultimately secured the win. Voorhees University's standout players included
Keshawn Evans, who impressively scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, marking a notable double-double for the game. Cali Davis, despite playing for the opposing team, was a significant contributor to the Bulldog's victory, scoring a game-high of 32 points.
Additionally, Jesse Overson Jr. supported the Tigers with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and a steal, while RJ Pettis and Josiah Mobley contributed to the defense with their rebounding and steals. Despite their strong individual performances and a tight game, the Tigers could not clinch the win, slipping to a 0-4 record for the season.
