Voorhees University Lady Tigers Dominates Against University of the Virgin Islands Lady Buccaneers

In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Voorhees University Lady Tigers secured an impressive victory over the University of the Virgin Islands Lady Buccaneers at the Alumni Multiplex Center on December 14, 2024. The game, which was a conference matchup, ended with a decisive score of 74-40 in favor of Voorhees.

From the very beginning, the Lady Tigers took the lead, with a halftime score of 28-19. Their momentum didn't stop as they pushed through the second half, extending their lead and finishing strong. Notable performances included Ty'Shemia Bunkley, who led the team with 17 points, complemented by 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Shy'Kiera Brown also made significant contributions with 13 points and 7 rebounds, helping solidify the win for the Lady Tigers.

Other contributors included Zaniyah Snow with key 9 points and Cambria Parker who not only scored but also assisted greatly with 3 assists. The Voorhees defense was solid, keeping the Lady Buccaneers at bay throughout the game.

With this win, Voorhees University's Women's Basketball team now stands at an 8-1 overall record, with a 4-1 score in the conference games. Their next challenge will be against Wiley University on December 17, 2024, where they aim to continue their winning streak. The team's spirit and collective effort have clearly set a high standard for the upcoming games in the season.
