In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Voorhees University Tigers outclassed the Paine College Lady Panthers with a decisive 82-53 victory in their regular-season basketball encounter on January 30, 2025, at Denmark, SC. The Tigers, led by stellar performances from
Ty'Shemia Bunkley and
Inga Colclough, each scoring 17 points, showcased their dominance right from the start, finishing the first half with a commanding 42-18 lead.
Ty'Shemia Bunkley, not only a top scorer but also a significant presence under the basket, finished with a double-double adding 13 rebounds and 3 steals to her impressive point tally.
Inga Colclough also contributed significantly, pulling down 7 rebounds and registering a steal. The team's defensive efforts were spearheaded by
Kaelin Davis, who recorded 5 steals along with 8 points.
Nedisha Ford added another 10 points and showcased her all-around game with 5 rebounds and a steal. The game also saw contributions from
Piera Alexander and Amaria Wright, the latter providing crucial defensive plays for the Tigers.
The victory improves the Tigers' season record to 10-8 overall and 4-8 in conference play. Looking ahead, the Tigers will face Stillman College at Leonard E. Dawson on February 1, 2025.
