In an intense conference basketball face-off that stretched into overtime, the Voorhees University Tigers narrowly defeated the Fisk University Bulldogs 88-87 on November 20, 2025, in Nashville, TN. This victory marks a significant moment in the season for the Tigers, improving their record to 2-7, 1-0 in the HBCU Athletic Conference.

The game opened with Fisk University taking an early lead, managing to pull ahead by seven points in the first period. Despite a spirited effort from Voorhees, including a crucial layup from Tim Smith, Fisk maintained the upper hand nearing halftime, tying the game at 79 each. Key player for Voorhees, Xavier Finney, demonstrated his scoring prowess throughout the match, culminating with 25 points.

As the second half unfolded, both teams exhibited a robust defensive and offensive play. Voorhees University, fueled by Finney's consistent scoring and Daethan Harris's impactful assists and crucial free throws, kept the pressure on their opponents.
