Allicia Golden-Magee, a proud native of Sumter, South Carolina, began her outstanding collegiate journey at Voorhees University in 2002, where she excelled as a dual-sport student-athlete in basketball and track & field.
Golden-Magee quickly established herself as one of the most accomplished distance runners in program history. She was named Voorhees Women’s Cross Country Most Valuable Player three consecutive years (2002, 2003, 2004) and earned EIAC Cross Country Female Athlete of the Year honors during that same span. She continues to hold the EIAC cross country record with a remarkable time of 19:05.
Her success extended to track & field, where she showcased versatility across multiple events, including the long jump, high jump, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, and relay competitions. A four-time NAIA national qualifier, she achieved a top national finish of ninth place at the NAIA National Championships in 2003.
In 2004, Golden-Magee played a pivotal leadership role on the 4x100-meter relay team that captured the EIAC Conference Championship and went on to earn All-American honors at the national meet. She was also named EIAC Track & Field Female Athlete of the Year in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Among her enduring program records is the high jump mark of 5 feet, 5 inches.
Following her distinguished competitive career, Golden-Magee returned to her alma mater in 2009 as an assistant track & field coach. Two years later, she was elevated to head coach. Under her leadership, the program produced seven national qualifiers and two NAIA national runners-up, further strengthening her legacy as both an elite athlete and transformational coach at Voorhees.
Golden-Magee’s impact continues to resonate through the student-athletes she mentors and the standards of excellence she helped establish within the program.
