Edward J. Glover Jr. is currently the head coach at the helm of the Voorhees University women's basketball program. During his time at Voorhees, he has led the Lady Tigers basketball team to many conference championships, conference tournament championship game appearances, national tournament appearance and is nearing the 400-victory plateau. With the team's achievements over the years, Glover has received many accolades such as conference and media coach of the year awards.
He is currently ranked nationally among the top active National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
(NAIA) women's basketball coaches for career wins. He was featured in the American Basketball Quarterly Magazine article "The Secretaries of Defense" Vol. 3, 1st quarter. Under his leadership, current and former Lady Tigers have received national, conference and media honors with their play on the court and for their academic excellence in the classroom.
Prior experiences include stints as the head women's basketball coach at Denmark Technical College and assistant men's basketball coach at Claflin University. Glover is a graduate of Claflin University with a B.A. in Sociology and South Carolina State University with a M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling. He also attended and lettered at Francis Marion University as a member of the men's basketball squad. The St.
Matthews, S.C. native was a three-sport scholar athlete at Calhoun County High School.
In addition to his coaching duties over the years, Glover was dually employed as a long-time mental health professional counselor with the Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center that serves Bamberg, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties with the last eight years serving as the Clinic Director of the Bamberg County Satellite office in Denmark. Currently, Coach Glover also serves the University as the Mental Health Coordinator. Glover is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. He is married to Dr.
Elrica L.C. Glover; they are the proud parents of two daughters (Edriana and Erin) and a son (Evan).
