Edward J. Glover Jr. serves as head coach of the Voorhees University women’s basketball program, where he continues to build upon a legacy of sustained excellence and competitive success.

During his tenure at Voorhees University, Glover has guided the Lady Tigers to multiple conference championships, numerous conference tournament championship game appearances, and a national tournament berth. He is approaching the 400-career victory milestone and ranks among the top active NAIA women’s basketball coaches nationally in career wins.

Under his leadership, Lady Tiger student-athletes have earned national, conference, and media recognition for both their athletic performance and academic achievement. Glover himself has received multiple conference and media Coach of the Year honors and was featured in American Basketball Quarterly Magazine in the article “The Secretaries of Defense” (Vol. 3, 1st Quarter), highlighting his program’s defensive identity and discipline.

Prior to Voorhees, Glover served as head women’s basketball coach at Denmark Technical College and as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Claflin University. A native of St. Matthews, South Carolina, he was a three-sport scholar-athlete at Calhoun County High School. He later attended Francis Marion University, lettering in men’s basketball, before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Claflin University and a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from South Carolina State University.

Beyond coaching, Glover has dedicated many years to public service as a licensed mental health professional counselor with the Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center, serving Bamberg, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties. He previously served eight years as Clinic Director of the Bamberg County Satellite Office in Denmark and currently serves Voorhees University as its Mental Health Coordinator.

Glover is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. He is married to Dr. Elrica L.C. Glover, and they are the proud parents of three children: daughters Edriana and Erin, and son Evan.
